My kitchen is an absolute disaster. Plan of action: Ignore.
Yesterday, I built an incredibly simple idle game. I found an Idle Game Tutorial and steeled myself to learn and work with Javascript. I'm now beginning to understand all the hate it gets. My idea was initially to create a space colony idle game, but that quickly got scrapped for a space outpost game that revolves around the generation and consumption of oxygen. I tried to get some accurate numbers from the ISS about the size of their oxygen tanks, the yield of their oxygen generators, and the total oxygen consumption. I'm also completely disregarding the fact that we breathe only 20% oxygen. I'm only accounting for that by stating that one human consumes 70 liters of oxygen per hour.
Another mechanic I'm excited about is the day/night cycle. I suppose the space outpost is orbiting around a planet because the sun "comes up" every 24 hours for 10 hours. I know the ISS gets about 16 sunrises a day(IIRC), but I do not care. As of right now, this is all I've got:
It's hardly anything right now but I'm excited to continue this project. My main problem (which also prompted me to start writing down my ideas) is that there's no drive to stay alive. You can procreate to make more humans, which creates a stronger oxygen drain, so why would we reproduce? You can build an oxygen generator, but with what resources? We're floating in space. I have a pretty substantial concern that this game is just not going to be fun.

Yesterday I did "research" by playing CivClicker for a couple of hours. I think I'll do the same today. I'd really like to start coding but I'm a little lost at the moment. God, I'm procrastinating...
I find it much easier to focus on my task at hand when I don't have any other enchanting options. Such as writing a blog post in class vs at home...
